NCHN Reminders

The 2014 NCHN Annual Educational Conference is getting underway today in St. Louis, Missouri. Among excellent sessions and speakers, the 6th annual Award winners will be announced at the Awards Luncheon on Wednesday at the Conference. Follow NCHN on Facebook and Twitter for updates from the Conference.

The next NCHN Leadership Summit will be in January 2015 and, while the location has not been pinned down, there is consensus that it will be somewhere warm. The date and location will be announced as soon as that information is available.

The Matrix Map: A Powerful Tool for Mission-Focused Nonprofits
by Steve Zimmerman
It’s easy to embrace the concept of the Dual Bottom Line, but harder to apply it in a real-world board setting. For example, board members—and many staff—are seldom familiar with all of the programs and activities of the organization. Report to the Membership from the Executive Director

We are now in St. Louis for the 2014 NCHN Annual Educational Conference. It is an exciting time for NCHN members! We are kicking off a new fiscal year (May 1st) and I welcome the opportunity to give the membership an overview of the accomplishments of your Association for 2013 and peek at some plans for 2014.

Without the continued support of our dedicated members these activities and projects would not have been possible. Thanks to each member that stepped forth during 2013 to serve on committees, participate on Coffee/Tea Chats, respond to list serve questions, answer emails and generously provide support to your peers. The Board of Directors and Officers continually seek feedback from you and meet on a regular basis to discuss and explore programming that meets the needs of our diverse membership.

NCHN Wants YOU2014 Committee Sign Up: Get Involved

NCHN is a membership organization, which is governed by representatives from the membership. In addition to the importance of volunteer Directors, it is also important to have broad representation of the membership serving on the various NCHN Committees.

The committees operate to assist the elected Board of Directors and the Officers in meeting its goals and objectives of the Association. We are now recruiting committee members for 2014. Please take a few minutes to review the 2014 Committees and their descriptions and sign up here to serve on a committee/s this year.

The Distance Learning and Telemedicine (DLT) Grant Program is specifically designed to assist rural communities in acquiring distance learning and telemedical technologies so that local teachers and medical service providers who serve rural residents can establish interactive video conferencing links to teachers, medical professionals, and other needed expertise located at distances too far to access otherwise.
